With just a few weeks until the next Dayton Riverfront Plan public meetings, project consultants, Sasaki, are preparing to present two alternate framework plans to the community. The framework plans propose an approach to reimagine the entire study area, including the four river corridors that reach into all quadrants of the city. From the final framework concept, a clear course will be mapped to proposed improvement and development that can evolve along the corridors.

The consultant also will present conceptual ideas for the development of ten sites along the corridors including:

These conceptual ideas will identify potential uses of those public open spaces and how they will connect to each other and to adjacent neighborhoods.

Attend & Engage

The ultimate goal is for our river corridors to develop and evolve, elevating the vibrancy of the city and becoming uniquely Dayton, and so continued input from the community is integral to the development process. The public, stakeholders and project partners will have the opportunity to provide feedback on each of the alternatives.

“Public meetings allow us to check in with the community and receive important feedback,” said MetroParks chief of planning and projects Carrie Scarff. “From the feedback, the consultant will choose one or the other, or more likely elements from both, that capture the imagination of Daytonians.”

People who wish to attend the meetings can sit in on a presentation of the two framework plans at the beginning of the meetings, and then participate in breakout sessions with the consultant. The breakout sessions will provide an opportunity for participants to ask questions and provide feedback about framework plans, park concepts and topics that interest them the most.
