The initial community input meetings for the Dayton Riverfront Plan were a huge success, with over 170 in attendance over two meeting sessions. During the meetings—held on August 17—project consultants, Sasaki, engaged community members, asking them what they envisioned for the 12 miles of river corridor located in greater downtown Dayton.

While in Dayton for the public meetings, Sasaki’s consultants visited parks and open spaces that will be planned in more detail in the Dayton Riverfront Plan, and took the opportunity to paddle kayaks down the Mad River.

Sasaki will analyze community input from the public meetings and data from digital surveys, and project partners will be sharing some information in a few weeks. The results will inform the development of the initial proposals, which will be presented to the public on October 26 at the Dayton Metro Library.
