The Montgomery County Fairgrounds Roundhouse’s restoration has kicked off, signalling progress with the larger onMain project, the Dayton Daily News writes:

The stabilization and renovation of the iconic, 151-year-old exposition building unofficially kicks off the first phase of a project that seeks to completely transform the large vacant site in coming in years and decades.

Phase 1 of the larger onMain project, which could cost about $133 million, is expected to create a new facility focused on research and innovation and about 170 new housing units.

This kickoff marks a milestone with work on the Education Corridor, which covers the south stretch of the Great Miami River from downtown to Carillon Historical Park, connecting some of the region’s strongest institutions: University of Dayton and Premier Health’s Miami Valley Hospital.
